MY FIRST ON-THE-JOB TRAINING BLOG Mikka A. Paclibar

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING(OJT) is a form of job instruction that occurs directly at the worksite while the employees learning is doing his or her job (or working alongside and learning from a more experienced worker. 

GOOD MORNING/ AFTERNOON EVERYONE!!! I am MIKKA A. PACLIBAR, a fourth year student taking BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY at NORTHERN ILOILO STATE UNIVERSITY (NISU) LEMERY CAMPUS. As I make my way to 2nd semester of my last year in college, we are required to take an On- The- Job Training in a host training establishment for preparation in real world after school and also to comply our needs in our subject (PR101 PRACTICUM). We are interning at Lemery Municipal DSWD PANTAWID PAMILYANG PILIPINO PROGRAM (4P's), together with my co- intern MAE JOY FLAVIANO, STEPHANIE JOY LAUDENORIO, and RIZA BIÑAS. Our OJT Coordinator Sir(RENE D. ARDUO) introduce us to our Training Supervisors Sir(RYAN J. CONEJAR), Sir(JERICHO V. SALUTIN), and Ma'am (CYNTHIA J. AKOT). After that they warmly welcome us and orient us on the task they are doing inside the Office, and also they orient us on what will be the task they will give to us that we will be doing inside the Office.

We started our first week on the 2nd week of February starting from the 6th day of that Month. I don't know whether to feel excited or nervous because finally, we will be able to experience the so called "real world or job in a real". Nervousness and shyness are always there when it's your first time. For many reason, a lot of stuff playing on my mind. Such, We do not know the people in the office; We do not have any actual experience, and we're still not quite sure about the work we will be doing for this entire ON- THE- JOB TRAINING. That made me quite at first, trying to observe on how to get along with our supervisors and other people or employees in the office. But as time goes by, we started to loosen up as we enjoying their environment. They are all kind, approachable, and playful. Also they make us laugh everytime we look bored and quiet.

In our first month of our ON-THE- JOB TRAINING at DSWD PANTAWID PAMILYANG PILIPINO PROGRAM (4P's), we have so much experience, learnings, and enjoyable moments with my co- interns and our supervisors. We go along with them to assist the new Set12 Grantees of PANTAWID PAMILYANG PILIPINO PROGRAM (4P's) in all Barangay of Municipality of Lemery, Iloilo. We have so much fun and enjoyable moments during validating the new Set12 Grantees of 4P's. After assisting we have some time getting to know each other during our lunch break or break time. Sometimes our supervisors give us some paperworks to be done by writing some of their information from their validation form and also segragating the validation form of new Set12 Grantees of 4P's according to their Barangay. Onetime we have encountered one small problem in using xerox copier machine, we don't know how to remove the paper inside the xerox copier. We ask permission to our supervisors if they can teach us on how to open the xerox copier machine and how to remove the paper inside it and they immediately teach us. Also we apologize on what we did and they accept it.

In this 1st month of OJT training or practicum I learned a lot things such as how to accept small or big mistakes, how to communicate or interact to different people, and I gained more self- confidence and self- esteem.
